Cosmo Cricket Early Bird fabric stamp tote

I am totally in love with this tote, and the best part...I could actually win this! First of all, I am totally in love with Cosmo Cricket, and secondly, I had no idea they had fabric. Thanks to Lime Tart, they are giving away this tote that holds 25 stamp sets.

Well currently this is what I store my stamps in. I only have a few, and I am still learning new tricks. I just learned how to use my heat gun and embossing powder, so I am sure my collection is going to grow. Here is my current storage solutions:
Everything is in the closet in these plastic containers, but I am getting my new desk and expedit for Christmas, so that tote would just look fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

live.teach.create challenge

It's been a while since I have had any free time, so as you can guess, it has been a while since I have been able to actually participate in a challenge. So here is my entry for live.teach.create's June challenge:

Who: You!
What: Scrapbooking a Layout (any size is fine)
When: Start June 1st and due by MIDNIGHT CDT June 15th
Where: You MUST upload the layout to the Live.Teach.Create Facebook Fan Page (click on the link and become a fan)
Why: To win a great prize (pic below)
How:
You must create a layout with one photo of YOURSELF (it can include others), you MUST use a die cut of some type AND the layout needs to be about "Why I Scrapbook". I want to see the reasons why you scrapbook and how it makes you who you are! :)

June Challenge Prizes:
All 3 6x6 Pads of the most recent releases from Sassafras Lass (Nerdy Bird, Apple Jack and Cherry Delicious. Three bottles of Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels (Harvest Orange, Sand and Forest Moss-Nature Collection)
I am so excited to enter. I am still new to scrapbooking, so I still have never worked with Glimmer Mist (but am dying for some), and that paper is so stinking cute. I want it all!

This is a picture of me wearing my scrapbooking glasses, (don't you think they make me look smarter?) I don't even wear glasses, these belong to my Ugly Betty Halloween costume, I just feel in the zone when I wear them while scrapping. Anyway, the paper is from DCWV flower spring pack. I cut out the word create using the Cricut Home Decor cartridge and used Antique Linen stickles to dazzle up the paper . I also used the Cuttlebug to cut out and emboss the butterflies and Broken China distress stickles to accent the yellow silk flowers. The tag is from the K&Company tag pad, and the button is from some Lane Bryant capri's I owned a few years back.

Candy Shoppe Design Callenge!

I thought this was the perfect time to incorporate rain/tear drops into our creations this month. The saying goes...."April showers bring May flowers" and I do think it's a good way to symbolize the changes taking place at C.S.D. Here's the Blog Candy this month from our April sponsor Scarlet Lime. Here is my entry:

This is a layout I did incorporating both rain and tears. These are from our trip to Disneyworld. I was looking forward to it so much, and it rained everyday we were there. It didn't rain all day, but I was so sad. My hair was frizzy, and it was humid, but it was a blast. My favorite part is the people in the background. Everyone was wearing those plastic ponchos and rubber Crocs. I love the background people. In my layout, I put some bright colored flowers and bright paper because no matter what, it was a happy time. Can you see the raindrop embellishments I used? They kind of blend into the paper, but if you look hard enough, you can see them.

I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! This month the Nerdy Victorious Scrapbookers, they are hosting an Alice in Wonderland Challenge.

This is the collage you will draw your inspiration from this month. Take from it what you will (the colors, the patterns, the objects, etc.) and do what you do.

Our sponsor this month is SNOBBY WALRUS. It's a fabulous new place that will surely put a smile on your face. If this guy....

doesn't do it, then all the people over there will. I promise you! They are such a fun-filled group of people from all over the world. Check out the forums there to see what I'm talking about. Don't forget to take a peek in their fabulous online store and at their funny blog too!

With that said, here is my entry:

This is a picture of my 3 nieces. Vanesa, Samantha, and Alyssa. No matter what you do or where you go, if they are involved, you definitely feel like you are going bonkers! It's a madhouse!

Gutter Girlz Prompt #36

THE PROMPT: It's No Secret
THE SONG: Everybody Knows by Concrete Blonde
As always, we choose our prize winners AND our guest gutter girlz from those of you who play along with us!! All you need to do is create YOUR art from OUR prompt, then leave us a comment with a direct LINK to your creation in your comment. We'll go through and pick a random prize winner, and our choice of a guest designer. How easy is THAT? This month's prize comes from our very own GutterGirl, Glenda!

Here is my Entry:

I listened to the lyrics of the song, and although I liked them, they are kind of dark. I chose to focus on the positive. Yeah the world sucks, and life sometimes feels like it won't get any better, but it never outweighs the good. "It's no secret I love being aunt Shell", is my theme. I don't have any kids, but I have a gaggle of nieces and nephews, and I love them all. This is me and my 3 nieces Alyssa, Samantha, and Vanesa. They are crazy girls new to their teens. They giggle, and whisper, and are just genuine. Yeah they have smart mouths sometimes, but that is for their parents to correct. I just have fun being Auntie!

Who I am right now!

Who's that girl #7 - Right Now

For this challenge we are super excited to be teaming up with Diana's awesome sketch blog- Sketchy Thursdays. Sketchy Thursdays is a weekly sketch challenge blog that chooses one random winner each week to receive a scrappy prize for participating. So be sure to post your completed layouts on their site as well to double your chances of winning a prize!!!

For this one challenge, you are being asked to use both the sketch from Diana AND the WTG prompt.

Journaling Prompt:

Right Now - while the core of who you are doesn't change, I find that my interests and activities tend to evolve from one year to the next. Take a moment to capture the things you are into RIGHT NOW.

Entertainment: Favorite TV shows, music, movies, websites Tastes: Foods and drinks you are into right now, clothing styles, products, brands Activities: Crafts you are working on, hobbies, interests, new routines or habits

(Try for at least 5 different facts about yourself right now! I find a list can work great but its totally your call!)

I loved this prompt, and here I am:

It is true that at my core I am always the same person, but we all tend to try new things and develop new hobbies and favorite gadgets and hobbies. Here are the things that I love right now:
1. I never watched any of the Harry Potter movies, but now that we are going to Universal Florida, we decided to start at the beginning. I actually really like them.
2. My upcoming trip to the World of Harry Potter- Universal Orlando. We are staying at The Hard Rock Hotel. YAY!
3. I love my new Iphone. Can't say enough. Money well spent.
4. My success on Jenny Craig. Not only have I lost 22 pounds, my sugar is down, and now the treat of going on insulin is off the table. Another YAY!
5. You tube tutorials are fantastic. I feel so smart from watching people share their scrapbook, card making, and stamping knowledge.
6. Sugar free gum- really helps me curb my appetite.
7. Facebook and all its games. I am a chef, a farmer, and a mayor, oh my!
8. True Blood- I love Sookie Stackhouse, both in Charlaine Harris' books, and on HBO.
9. Bath and Body Works Orange Ginger Shampoo- when you sweat, it smell's so good!
10. Starbucks Shaken Green Tea Lemonade unsweetened with 2 sweet n lows- a great drink that helps me stay away from my beloved Diet Coke.
11. Mario Kart marathons- me and my husband will play this for hours. I always play as Princess Peach. I love her pink racing outfits.
12. The color Orange. I love orange, the color, the fruit, the smell. Hence, the shampoo, and my life long love for Clinique Happy perfume. I am from California, and I am just bright and cheerful, what can I say.
13. Spring Flowers- They are just so pretty. Enjoy them before the 105 degree weather comes and kills them.
14. My happy life- I am just at complete bliss these days. I won't argue, I am just enjoying it!

I got my Bottle Swap!

I am so happy because on Easter morning I checked the mail and my bottle had arrived. I was hosting a family barbecue so I had to wait until after work on Monday to open it. I am so excited, I love everything in it! Okay, let me back up a minute. I participated in a youtube bottle swap hosted by Yoliebean. It is a little out there for me to join in things like that, but I had so much fun, both shopping for my partner, and getting my package. I am new to scrapping and just amazed and excited for all the new things, ideas, and people who have come into my life since. So here are some pics of my goodies. My husband filmed me opening it up, but I am in my workout clothes, and I hate how my arm wiggles, so we will not be posting that video! Once again, thanks to my swap partner Ozelle, and to Yolanda for hosting this!

Bottle Swap

I am so excited to participate in Yoliebean's bottle swap. I watched from the sidelines last time, and thought it was neat. I am always so hesitant to do anything out of my comfort zone, but this time I just joined. I am having the best time finding stuff for my swap partner. Her name is Ozelle and she is from Chelsea, MA. How crazy is that? I wanted to send her a reusable bag from Disneyland since I have a season pass and it is my favorite place, but I need to stop shopping and just put it together and send it out already. I will keep you posted on what I both send, and what I receive. Yay!

Gutter Girlz Promt #34

Here is my first whack at a prompt. I thought long and hard about it, and it just wasn't coming out right. I think what I was missing is the personal part of the challenge. It is hard to open up sometimes, so now I totally understand why these are called challenges!

Gutter Girlz Challenge: Prompt #34
http://guttergirlz.blogspot.com/
(12 X 12 Scrapbook Page)
THE PROMPT:
I'm Still Sugar and Spice
THE SONG:
One of the Boys by Katy Perry
PRODUCT/TECHNIQUE:
Ribbon/Bows AND Dirty Socks

My take on it:
I started out with 12x12 denim textured paper. I chose the demin paper because it is casual. The spider reflects the lyrics of the song, " I saw a spider, I didn't Scream." The background mat around the picture is black with hot pink lips, and hot pink hearts. It is feminine without haing to be stereotypical pink hearts and flowers. My personal journaling was a little tricky for me at first, but it is the truth. I used the prompt Sugar and Spice to label the project, which also reflects us two in the picture. I am spicy, and he is the sweet sugary one, which is a perfect blend. I chose to use some of the lyrics from "One of the Boys" next to my picture. The only reference to socks is me wearing my favorite argyle skull socks in the picture.
Oh yeah and by the way, my "prom" picture is a picture taken at the Fetish and Fantasy Halloween Ball in Vegas. We go every year, since Halloween is our anniversary, and every year we take a new picture.

I am so excited because I have discovered a world of scrapbooking/crafting/art. I stumbled upon Gutter Girlz by accident, and just went from there. I thank everyone in advance for all the advice and inspiration I am just dying to soak in.
